Recent developments
According to Indra Reddy, Product Manager, Nandan Biomatix, "We have launched
a well researched product Bio-Rhythm in the Hyderabad market. Bio-Rhythm is
natural aphrodisiac that fills the gap in the management of male sexual dysfunctions.
The present era, men are under more pressure than ever before and the Bio-Rhythm
is found to increase libido, reduce stress and improve energy." The safety
studies of Bio-Rhythm reveal that Bio-Rhythm is safe for human consumption and
suitable for long term usage. Nutritional study reveals that Bio-Rhythm is rich
in zinc and other herbal constituents which, in turn, promote production of
testosterone by the body naturally and protect sperm from free radical damage,
thereby rejuvenating the body. The launch would be followed by similar launches
across metros across India.
Work sites
The company has its manufacturing facility at Hyderabad and it is expanding
its existing capacity. The current capacity is of 10 MT/ per month, with various
herbs like Aloe Vera (40 percent), Safed Musli (40 percent); other herbs (20
percent). The company has total manpower strength of 250 people and plans to
add more people in the near future.
Exploring new markets
The company has appointed distributors and submitted dossiers for registration
in ASEAN countries, Cote D'Ivoire and expected to get marketing authorisations
soon. Currently, it has four products for domestic and international markets.
"We have 12 products in the pipeline, which are expected to complete R&D
work and clinical safety studies in a phase wise manner. The therapeutic areas
are male and female aphrodisiacs, male reproductive ailments, general debility,
memory problems and gynaecology segment. We have strong product pipeline for
male and female reproductory area and also developing natural products for many
lifestyle disorders. Research is underway on herbal beverages too," Reddy
added.
Marketing channels
In the domestic market, company markets Bio-Rhythm through the over the counter
(OTC) route and this product is available in all leading chemist shops in Hyderabad
and Secunderabad. The company will be launching these products in a phase wise
manner in all South Indian states and metros across India. Preparations are
underway to launch a specialised product for females as well, according to the
spokesperson.
In the future
Giving details of future plans, the spokesperson reveals, "We are coming
up with Phase II manufacturing and extraction facility with capacity of 100
MT/Month inclusive of Super Critical Fluid Extraction Unit, Beverage and Bottle
filling unit and Formulation and Finished Product unit (Capsule and Tablet Making
facilities). The Phase-II neutraceutical unit expected by the next financial
year would be producing state of the art standardised herbal extracts, formulations
and beverages for global markets. These products will be marketed in India through
our existing network, joint ventures and also through private labelling."
