The Mumbai based Ipca Laboratories is expanding its foothold
in domestic as well international markets. For the current
fiscal, the company has plans to invest Rs 60 crore for upgrading
its existing manufacturing facilities as well as for its research
and development (R&D) centres across India.

Phrama to commission Uttarakhand facility shortly
The Bangalore-based pharmaceutical company Bal Phrama continues
to be in expansion mode, by investing Rs 30 crore in a manufacturing
facility at Rudrapur, Uttarakhand. The new formulation facility
will begin operations by end August

acquires Germany based Hormosan Pharma
It seems acquisitions have become a flavour of the season
for Indian pharma companies. Mumbai based pharmaceutical giant,
Lupin, extended the list of acquirers by recently taking over
Hormosan Pharma Gmbh (Hormosan), a German sales and marketing
generics company specialised in the supply of pharma products
for the Central Nervous System (CNS).
MedPlus
to expand reach
The Hyderabad-based two year old pharma-retail chain, MedPlus
Health Services, is expanding its footprint across India and
intends to have a pan-India presence by end of 2009

Novartis India is in the process of expanding its gynaecology

of finalisation and they are soon expected in the domestic
