Transasia launches Erba Den-Go to detect dengue in India

Transasia Bio-Medicals has recently launched its brand new product, Erba Den-GO (CE marked) to provide a user-friendly and rapid diagnostic method for detection of dengue infection. Erba Diagnostics Mannheim GmbH is Transasia's subsidiary in Germany, which plays a pivotal role in bringing world-class products within reach of laboratories across the globe. The key advantage of this new test is that it is a 15 minute procedure.

The test allows presumptive differentiation between primary and secondary dengue with an overall accuracy of 99.3 percent. This rapid test is designed to simultaneously to detect and differentiate IgG and IgM antibodies of dengue virus in human serum, plasma or whole blood and comes in packing of 15 tests per box. CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) has categorised this disease as infectious and dengue is recorded to infect 50-100 million people every year. The virus is known to cause three manifestations namely dengue fever, dengue hemorrhagic fever and dengue shock syndrome--leading to death in five percent of the infected cases.
